Presentation-style

  • Course Description

While an integrated inter-disciplinary BioPsychoSocialSpiritual treatment model is not a new concept, advances in medical science and the “westernization” of chronic pain treatment has tipped the scales toward a BioMedical model. However, many payers like insurance companies and workers’ compensation providers are finding out (the hard way) that not treating the whole person can negatively impact clinical outcomes, especially for chronic pain. This course will describe how addressing the physiological drivers of pain is an important component for recovery from injury and resumption of activities, and will cover how the different facets of the BioPsychoSocialSpiritual model can influences positive chronic pain treatment outcomes.
