    This course provides an overview about neuromodulation and the impact of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) on treatment-resistant depression. TMS has been shown to be effective on innumerable clinical trials, and can be helpful adjunctive therapy alongside standard talk therapy. This course is designed to help clinicians understand the applications of TMS and how/when/who to refer for TMS treatment; Specific focus is on neuromodulation and functional neuropsychiatry for the treatment of major depression disorder/treatment resistant depression.

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Provide an overview of the treatment process of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS); Explain how neuromodulation techniques are used to induce long term changes in brain network functioning; Describe how neuromodulation can be an efficacious augmentation to therapy for treatment-resistant depression patients

Shashita Inamdar MD is a licensed and board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She is Medical Director at Achieve Concierge and Achieve TMS Centers with clinical centers of excellence in California, Oregon and Alaska as well as a tele-medicine arm to consult and work with patients worldwide. She has over 20 years of expertise in the diagnosis and management of neuropsychiatric disorders. Dr. Inamdar's care is based on the premise that each person is different and deserves a customized approach to care. Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans may include lab testing and pharmacogenetic testing for drug sensitivities and metabolism neuromodulation techniques such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), medication management, psychotherapy, hypberbaric oxygen and/or nutrition and other treatment options based on each patient's unique needs. Dr. Inamdar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She lives in La Jolla, CA with her family.

Elizabeth 'Beth' Irias (she/her) is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Founder and President of Clearly Clinical. She has specializations in Clinical Documentation, Best Practice, and Utilization Review, and works closely with clinical teams across the US as a trainer and national conference presenter. She operates a private practice in Westlake Village, CA, where she provides therapy to adolescent/young adult clients, members of the LGBTQ population, and those with addictive disorders. Beth is an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University in the Graduate Psychology and Education department. She also has two young children, a super cool husband who helps out with Clearly Clinical, a rescue dog, and a rescue cat.
