COURSE DESCRIPTION
Chronic pain includes both physiological and psychological pain symptoms, and participants of this presentation will learn how to differentiate between the two types of symptoms in order to support patients who are experiencing chronic pain. The multi-disciplinary Addiction Free Pain Management model offers clinicians a new skill set to address chronic pain issues with clients without the use of opioids, and also offers a treatment modality for those who are already in the throes of an addictive disorder as a result of their chronic pain and past medical management strategies. Providers will learn how about the implementation of a research-supported, multidisciplinary, and integrated pain management approach that may increase positive treatment outcomes, and participants will also learn the components that are necessary to treat the synergistic symptoms of pain and coexisting disorders including Biological, Psychological, Social/Cultural, and Spiritual.
-
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
