• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    Working in the addiction treatment field, we are familiar with using spiritual concepts in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction; the concept of spirituality is seen as a construct for healing in recovery. Research has shown that increased spiritual practices have been associated with improved treatment outcomes and decreased recidivism. In the context of treatment, we need to become familiar with the ideology of our clients and how to bridge the gap of spirituality between our programmatic beliefs, personal beliefs, and the client’s beliefs on this subject. This interview explores the concept of spirituality, as can be characterized by the individual, while exploring how to disseminate an overall program of spiritual growth.

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Define spirituality; Describe at least one research finding that supports the integration of spirituality in addiction recovery; Describe three mindfulness practices.

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)

Gina H. Tabrizy is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with thirty years of experience, knowledge, and expertise in the areas of Addiction, Trauma, and Codependency. She’s appeared on Local and National Television Programs, speaking about the impact of Childhood Trauma/Abuse and Addiction. Gina has guested on several talk radio programs, and moderated programs on the internet, presented at the National Conferences, given hundreds of lectures. Co-founded Harmony Heals Inc., acting as the Clinical Director. Gina holds consulting positions for treatment and residential recovery programs. Specialties include: E.M.D.R., Certified Hypnotherapist, Director of Psychodrama, Inner Child Work, and P.I.T. She enjoys a reputation for providing excellent clinical care. As a speaker and practitioner, she is known for being direct, passionate, humorous, and loving. She is a proud mother of two children whom she considers her greatest accomplishment and joy.

Elizabeth 'Beth' Irias (she/her) is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Founder and President of Clearly Clinical.
