Learn how a DBT-adherent treatment program works, and why it's structured that way

Presentation-style

  • Course Description

What do you know about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)? It is not well known that DBT treats emotion dysregulation or how effective DBT is for many clients who have multiple problem behaviors or symptoms that get in the way of getting to their goals due to the inability to regulate their emotions. This course will offer you a brief overview of the structure and components of DBT with the idea of peaking your interest in developing expertise in robust evidence based practices such as DBT that have demonstrated success in improving the lives of individuals who suffer due to emotion driven reactions. DBT both teaches and models skills and strategies for clients (and clinicians) to learn new and effective ways of coping – to both accept things that can not be changed and to change maladaptive coping strategies that often lead to “unintended consequences”.
