• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This on-demand podcast CE course explores premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a severe chronic condition marked by debilitating symptoms associated with the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Dr. Monique Gonzalez examines how menstrual stigma, systemic bias, and gaps in professional education can contribute to underrecognition and misdiagnosis, while helping clinicians distinguish PMDD from PMS. The conversation offers a practical primer for assessment and treatment, including prospective symptom tracking, suicide risk assessment, psychoeducation, medication and hormonal interventions, therapeutic skills, and individualized, interdisciplinary care.

  • HOW TO TAKE THIS COURSE

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)

Monique Gonzalez, Psy.D. (she/her/ella) is a writer, continuing education workshop facilitator, and witchy sensitive soul who personally lives with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Dr. Gonzalez holds a doctoral degree and training in psychology, though has shifted from clinical services to community-oriented offerings that allow her to honor the pace, flow, and cycle of her mind, body and spirit. Dr. Gonzalez is passionate about re-imagining ways to support the creative gifts of those managing chronic illness. She is in the process of conjuring up an online collective care space for folks with fluctuating energetic or health capacity, seeking to channel and alchemize their unique skill set with less shame, more liberation. Dr. Gonzalez’s intuition, mindfulness training, ancestral lineage wisdom practices, trauma responsive care experience, cyclical living, and cultural humility principles strongly guide her approach. Dr. Gonzalez lives in a tiny village in Spain, where she has more spaciousness to flow with her PMDD and explore refreshed identities, such as orange orchard steward and aspiring fiction novel author.
