Appreciating the power of family patterns

Presentation-style

  • Course Description

This course focuses on family homeostasis and why clinicians may receive so much resistance from families when we attempt to assist with the very things bringing them into therapy/counseling. This course provides an overview of the challenges clinicians may face when attempting to disrupt this flow of interaction in order to alleviate symptoms and improve family interactions, and provides insight into how clinicians can work effectively with family systems without becoming a part of the family system.

  • Learning Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Define the term ‘subsystem’; List two or more ways that the individuation of adolescents may impacts the power structure within the home

    Series-Based Course
