  • COURSE DESCRIPTION

This on-demand podcast CE course explores the psychological and behavioral foundations of resilience, drawing from decades of research and clinical expertise. Led by Dr. Don Meichenbaum, one of the founders of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), this course examines the factors that distinguish individuals who successfully navigate trauma from those who develop psychological distress. Listeners will gain practical tools for fostering resilience in clients, including cognitive restructuring, meaning-making, and social support strategies. With a focus on evidence-based interventions, therapists will learn to enhance protective factors, counteract negative thinking, and apply resilience-building techniques across diverse populations, from trauma survivors to older adults.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Identify at least three protective factors that contribute to resilience in individuals, families, and communities; Describe the role of meaning-making in trauma recovery and explain how therapists can facilitate this process with clients; List at least two therapeutic strategies that enhance resilience and promote post-traumatic growth
