    Individuals who are transracially adopted often have limited input in their own adoption, and many find themselves wrestling with adoption-, culture-, and race-specific identity questions, and these queries and realizations may shift across the lifespan. This podcast CE courses not only defines transracial adoption, but also provides helpful perspectives about how transracial adoption may affect adoptees and adoptive families alike, as well as a review of interventions that may be particularly helpful with this population.

Jaclyn Skalnik is the founder of Adoption Wellness LLC and is a trauma-informed, adoption competent social worker and psychotherapist. As a Masters Level Clinician, she has worked with adopted individuals and their families for two decades. Adoption Wellness LLC is based out of Wisconsin and she consults with families across the globe. Areas of specialty include; attachment, grief & loss, whole-self identity exploration, transracial adoption, and developmental trauma. As a public speaker, Jaclyn has presented at National and International Conferences on Adoption and Child Welfare Issues and has trained professionals in schools, the legal sector and the medical field. As an international and transracially adopted individual, Jaclyn weaves her personal experiences into her professional training to provide a comprehensive perspective on the complexities of adoption. Elizabeth 'Beth' Irias (she/her) is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Founder and President of Clearly Clinical. She has specializations in Clinical Documentation, Best Practice, and Utilization Review, and works closely with clinical teams across the US as a trainer and national conference presenter; Beth was formerly an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University in the Graduate Psychology and Education department.
