• COURSE DESCRIPTION

This on-demand podcast CE course explores the intersection of complex trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and the persistence of toxic intimate relationships. Through a trauma-informed lens, Dr. Nancy Grechko shares clinical insights and practical strategies for helping clients who find themselves repeatedly drawn to harmful relational patterns. Topics include defining complex trauma, distinguishing between unhealthy and toxic relationships, identifying covert power and control dynamics, understanding popular psychological terms circulating on social media, and exploring the nervous system’s role in partner selection and relational reactivity. Clinicians will gain tools for integrating psychoeducation, nervous system regulation, and compassionate curiosity into therapeutic work with clients.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Briefly describe the role of nervous system dysregulation in the maintenance of harmful relationship patterns; Identify three or more subtle signs of toxic intimate relationships beyond physical or emotional abuse; Define two or more common relationship buzzwords (e.g., love bombing, gaslighting, breadcrumbing, etc) and explain their clinical relevance within trauma and relational dynamics
