• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This podcast CE interview course sheds light on how to effectively manage a disclosure of suicidal ideation or urges to self-harm, as well as how to assess risk immediately and in subsequent sessions. Safety plans, as well as effective replacements and general coping skills are discussed, as well as how to adapt these skills when working with minor clients and their families.

    Disclaimer: This episode discusses death by suicide and various forms of self-injurious behaviors, including discussion of redacted case examples.

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Briefly discuss the impact of means restriction on a client’s overall safety; Describe a clinical safety plan; List three or more clinical interventions relating to non-suicidal self injury and suicidal ideation

  • HOW TO TAKE THIS COURSE

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:
    #1: Have an active paid Clearly Clinical membership

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. After three attempts, users are advised to re-listen to the audio course in its entirety and then subsequently re-test. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)
    #4: Complete the requested course evaluation.

    Course elements (including the course audio, post-test, and requested course evaluation) can be completed on a computer or mobile device via your Clearly Clinical account.

Dr. Jaimee Arnoff

Expert on Suicidal and Self-Injurious Behavior

Dr. Jaimee Arnoff is a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in teens and young adults. Dr. Arnoff has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across hospital settings, residential treatment centers, and community mental health clinics with a training focus in mood and anxiety disorders. When not providing therapy services at her private practice in Beacon, NY, she also completes forensic evaluations through Family Court in Dutchess County. As the psychologist at James’s Warriors, a local not-for-profit organization, she has developed and presented on Teen Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in high schools and colleges, as well as in libraries and other community centers throughout NY. She is passionate about consulting with and training other clinicians in her areas of specialty, and she has collaborated with multiple agencies and been featured on numerous podcasts as an expert in her field.
