• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This on-demand podcast CE course offers an in-depth exploration of the supervision process as both a clinical and relational experience. Led by Dr. Brittany Peters, this course guides new and seasoned supervisors through the theoretical models, ethical responsibilities, and interpersonal dynamics that shape effective supervision. Listeners will learn to differentiate between administrative and clinical supervision, establish collaborative and culturally humble relationships with supervisees, and manage complex issues such as feedback, burnout, and power dynamics.

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: List two or more theoretical models of clinical supervision and describe how they influence supervisory style; List three or more systems-level factors that may influence the supervisor–supervisee relationship and client outcomes; Identify how to create a structured supervision plan that includes ethical guidelines, feedback processes, and learning objectives

  • HOW TO TAKE THIS COURSE

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. After three attempts, users are advised to re-listen to the audio course in its entirety and then subsequently re-test. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)
    #4: Complete the requested course evaluation.

    Course elements (including the course audio, post-test, and requested course evaluation) can be completed on a computer or mobile device via your Clearly Clinical account.

Dr. Brittany Peters is a leading expert in behavioral health, dedicated to advancing mental well-being and advocating for systemic change. She is a qualified supervisor and is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and is certified in addiction treatment.
Her professional journey is marked by a deep commitment to addressing disparities in minority mental health and challenging policies that impact black and brown communities. Dr. Peters serves on several boards, including the Statewide Dependency Court Improvement Panel and as President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Pinellas (NAMI).
Recognized in publications like the Tampa Bay Times and honored as an Emerging Leader by the National Urban League in 2022, Dr. Peters holds a BSW and MSW from Florida State University and a Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Elizabeth 'Beth' Irias (she/her) is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Founder and President of Clearly Clinical.
