COURSE DESCRIPTION
This on-demand podcast CE course introduces mental health professionals to compersion, the experience of positive emotions, thoughts, or attitudes in response to another person’s gratifying experiences, with particular attention to consensually nonmonogamous relationships. Dr. Marie Thouin explores the relationship between compersion and jealousy, along with individual, relational, and social factors that may support compersion, including personal and relationship security, metamour integration, and community support. The course also examines mononormative assumptions, relational autonomy, agency, and consent, offering clinicians a more informed framework for supporting relationship diversity in practice.
