• COURSE DESCRIPTION

Psychedelic use has exploded into public awareness, leaving many clients curious and many clinicians unsure how to respond. This on-demand podcast CE course explores ethical, trauma-informed ways for mental health professionals to talk with clients about psychedelics, differentiate psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy from harm reduction and integration work, interpret essential research findings on psilocybin and ketamine for mood disorders and trauma-related symptoms, and navigate complex safety, legal, and scope-of-practice considerations. Listeners will gain practical language, assessment strategies, and nonjudgmental approaches they can immediately bring into sessions, even if they never intend to offer psychedelic-assisted therapy themselves.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: * List three or more key safety and risk factors (such as set, setting, and substance-related issues) to explore with clients considering psychedelic use; Identify three or more ethical or legal considerations that shape therapists’ boundaries regarding advice-giving, referrals, and scope of practice in psychedelic-related work; Briefly describe the difference between psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and psychedelic harm reduction and integration therapy in terms of goals, structure, and therapist role
