• COURSE DESCRIPTION

Historically, people formed relationships through community networks—relatives, clergy, friends, neighbors, and matchmakers. Now, for the first time, technology is mediating our relationships, with social media, algorithms, and artificial intelligence reshaping how we form intimate bonds. This course explores emerging clinical and social themes related to safe sex and intimate relationships in the digital age, particularly in light of the rapid growth of SexTech, online dating platforms, and the widespread availability of erotica. The session provides a structured framework for clinicians to guide clients in understanding human sexualty, and engaging more healthfully and safely in intimate relationships within an increasingly connected online environment.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Identify two or more key elements of the Digital Health Framework; Explain three significant impacts of society's shift toward technology use on interpersonal and intimate relationships; List two or more effective strategies to help clients enhance the safety of their online intimate and sexual behaviors
