• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This on-demand podcast CE course explores the intersection of neurodivergence and hormonal changes in individuals assigned female at birth (AFAB). Therapist and coach Helen Bennett shares insights on how fluctuating hormones, through puberty, menstruation, and menopause, uniquely affect cognitive, emotional, and sensory experiences in neurodivergent people, especially those with ADHD or autism. Participants will gain tools to recognize and support clients through these challenges, and learn how advocacy, psychoeducation, and informed therapeutic approaches can empower clients to navigate their health more effectively.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: List three or more ways in which hormonal fluctuations can impact neurodivergent individuals assigned female at birth; Identify two or more strategies therapists can use to support AFAB clients navigating hormone-related mental health challenges; Briefly describe the relationship between hormone changes and executive functioning difficulties in neurodivergent clients.

  • HOW TO TAKE THIS COURSE

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. After three attempts, users are advised to re-listen to the audio course in its entirety and then subsequently re-test. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)
    #4: Complete the requested course evaluation.

    Course elements (including the course audio, post-test, and requested course evaluation) can be completed on a computer or mobile device via your Clearly Clinical account.

Helen Bennett is an integratively trained Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with a UK-based private practice specialising in supporting people struggling with menopause and hormone issues, POI, women's health, infertility, fertility treatment and miscarriage. Helen has lived experience of these issues and she is dedicated to bringing the topic of menopause and women’s health into the mainstream, helping educate mental health professionals and the wider public about the impact of hormonal changes on mental health.
Helen is a Co-Founder of Counsellors' Staffroom, an online professional community space providing personal and professional support, CPD and networking opportunities for counsellors and psychotherapists. She is passionate about supporting therapists through the power of community.
Before training as a therapist and supervisor, Helen worked in fast-paced, high-growth start-ups, leading People and Resourcing, in Financial Services and Media organisations in the UK.
