• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This course offers clinicians essential guidance for supporting gender-diverse clients considering or undergoing gender-affirming surgeries. Led by Zander Keig, a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience working with transgender individuals, the course covers practical considerations such as navigating insurance, preparing support networks, and understanding surgical options and outcomes. Listeners will learn psychoeducation strategies to address emotional preparedness, post-surgical recovery, and the complexities of informed consent. Designed to empower therapists with knowledge and empathy, this course equips professionals to provide comprehensive, affirming care for clients throughout their surgical journey.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Provide clients with brief descriptions of different types of surgical options; Direct clients to online surgery resources for pre and post-op support; List two or more interventions to help assist clients preparing for surgical transition

  • HOW TO TAKE THIS COURSE

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. After three attempts, users are advised to re-listen to the audio course in its entirety and then subsequently re-test. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)
    #4: Complete the requested course evaluation.
