• COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This course explores the complexities of intergenerational trauma, cultural values, and the unique experiences shaping mental health in these diverse populations. Led by Dr. Anjuli Amin, an expert in trauma-informed care, the course examines the intersections of collectivism, identity, and systemic challenges within these communities. Listeners will learn culturally attuned therapeutic approaches, including narrative techniques, holistic healing practices, and strategies for addressing stigma and building trust.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Define intergenerational trauma and describe how it may manifest within AA and NHPI communities, including its emotional and behavioral impacts; Identify three or more cultural values prevalent in AA and NHPI communities, such as collectivism; List at least two strategies for bridging Western psychotherapeutic approaches with culturally specific healing practices to enhance trauma-informed care

  • HOW TO TAKE THIS COURSE

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)

Dr. Anjuli Amin, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Cultural Diversity and Trauma Expert

Dr. Anjuli Amin obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. With 13+ years of experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs she has received extensive training in the areas of behavioral medicine, social justice, and evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She currently serves clients in CA, IL, and TX, providing therapy in her private practice, and consultation and DEI services to a wide array of organizations and audiences.In addition to clinical work, Dr. Amin enjoys teaching others about the psychotherapy process and holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor with UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. At the national level, Dr. Amin has been actively involved with the Asian American Psychological Association since 2007. Elizabeth 'Beth' Irias, MS, LMFT

Elizabeth 'Beth' Irias (she/her) is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Founder and President of Clearly Clinical.
