• COURSE DESCRIPTION

Mental health providers are seeing more older adults in their therapy practices than ever before, yet most therapists feel out of their element and uncertain of how to help when memory loss or cognitive changes present in the therapy room. Studies show that chronic mental illness and PTSD increase risk for dementia disorders, and that later-life symptoms of depression are often an early symptom of a dementia disorder. This on-demand CE interview equips mental health providers with best practices for navigating memory loss when it presents in mental health care.
