  • Course Description

    Eating disorders are complex illnesses which require comprehensive treatment approaches. This course is designed to clarify essential information for the appropriate diagnosis and management of eating disorders in a variety of settings. Specifically, this course will provide an overview of the different types of eating disorders, including Binge Eating Disorder, Anorexia, Bulimia, and others, as well as an exploration of their clinical presentations in order to assist clinicians.

  • Learning Objectives

    Upon completing this course, participants will be able to: Describe the difference between the diagnostic criteria for Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorder; Describe how the DSM-5 characterizes the severity markers for the various eating disorder diagnoses; Describe two or more indicators that a client may be appropriate for a higher level of care than outpatient therapy/counseling

  • How To Take This Course

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:
    #1: Have an active paid Clearly Clinical membership

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. After three attempts, users are advised to re-listen to the audio course in its entirety and then subsequently re-test. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)
    #4: Complete the requested course evaluation.

    Course elements (including the course audio, post-test, and requested course evaluation) can be completed on a computer or mobile device via your Clearly Clinical account.

Juli has spent the last 15 years working with adolescents and their families in a variety of settings, and has been with Center for Discovery since 2007. Her previous experience includes working as a Program Director at one of Discovery’s residential locations, has worked at the PHP level of care in adolescent mental health, and worked as an in-home behavioral coach. As a Regional Director, she is responsible for overseeing and training the clinical staff in Discovery’s Southern California residential eating disorder division and is a certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) and Supervisor (CEDSS). Juli is a national speaker and trainer on the subject of eating disorders.  Her passion for clinical excellence and skill as a mentor and teacher have inspired countless members of the Center for Discovery team. Juli is a fearlessly authentic psychotherapist with an approachable style, and especially enjoys helping clients reconnect with their families through the process of family therapy. Juli’s infectious laugh and her warm manner are cherished by her teammates.
