    Family therapy with LGBTQ youth can often be very challenging, especially for a clinician who is new to working with this population. This presentation-based course provides an overview of three evidence-based family therapy models to use with LGBTQ adolescents and their families. The presenter will not define terms or provide the listener with introductory basics, so prior knowledge about working with LGBTQ youth is recommended.

  • How To Take This Course

    In order to receive a certificate of completion reflecting the associated CE credit hour, you must:

    #3: Achieve a passing grade on the post-presentation test (the test has up to ten questions and you must earn a score of at least 80%; users can re-test up to three times. After three attempts, users are advised to re-listen to the audio course in its entirety and then subsequently re-test. Psychologists who are seeking CE credit may not be awarded credit if they attempt to pass the post-test more than three times.)
    #4: Complete the requested course evaluation.

LGBTQ+ Expert

Kyle Bullock, MSW, LSW, is the Program Manager of LGBTQ Services and the Polaris program at Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital, an innovative psychiatric unit for LGBTQ young people. Kyle received his Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration where he concentrated his course work in child/adolescent mental health. Kyle has worked with LGBTQ young people in several capacities including as a psychotherapist for transgender and gender non-conforming young people. In 2014, Kyle was selected by the LGBTQ community of Long Beach, CA as a Grand Marshal for their Pride Parade.
